But we are going to try to get back into the swing of this, so here we go... I just got back from the Woodside Dressage Show. Lauren held down the fort at home and lunged my horse for me since she didn't get to go. Instead I got to take Nancy B's other horse, Andaluz to his very first show! He is an ex-grand prix jumper who is just learning the ropes of his new life as a dressage horse. We call him Andy and he is a 12 year old Holsteiner gelding, with Accord/Landgraf breeding but I am not sure on the details. He is a gentle giant, being literally 18 hands. Im kind of short so I really looked like a little kid up on him! The show was so much fun! We met some of Ellens other students up there, and Ellen brought Aliano, Nancy B's other horse to school. Andy was a super star once he discovered he didn't have to jump and got a 67% in training level test 4 and a 64% in first level test one...Actually we only need one more score to qualify for the amateur championships! Not bad for his first show!

the decision to start blogging

We are two dressage/ horse crazy girls that have decided to join the technological advanced world of internet blogging. We go to school and ride...thats pretty much our life. We have ridden many different disciplines but are now obsessed with dressage. Both of us happen to have holsteiners. Lauren's horse is Colamar, a 14 year old gelding by Cantus out of a Landgraf mare. He was imported in 2000 and was a Grand Prix jumper before she purchased him. He is currently schooling 4th/PSG. Katey rides a 7 year old mare by Crescendo out of an Accord mare. She is owned by Nancy Bareilles and is schooling third level. She is a California bred horse. We both live in the San Luis Obispo area and train with Ellen Eckstein, a Grand Prix dressage rider who also worked a lot with world renouned horse trainer Tom Dorrance. Join us in our dressage endevours!
thanks katey and lauren
